Youth Recognition

Volunteer Service Awards

CWC Youth Volunteer Service awards recognize the volunteer efforts of children and teenagers. This CWC program honors children, ages 5-19, who volunteer. Anyone may nominate a child.

CWC believes that through volunteer service, one individual can make a difference. Through its Youth Volunteer Service Awards program, CWC honors the accomplishments of our area youth and brings community attention to these outstanding young people. All nominees and their families are invited to attend a presentation ceremony in the spring. This is a community program of Colleyville Woman’s Club; there is no fee to nominate a child or for the child to attend.

The CWC Youth Volunteer Service Awards recognize three levels of service activity and include three separate awards. The awards are judged in four age groups; nominees may receive only one award per year, but each award level may honor several honorees. Every child who applies receives award recognition. The committee completes its selections by April 15.

Volunteer Scholarships

CWC Volunteer Scholarships, awarded on a record of high school volunteer service, also provide financial support to area graduating seniors. The Scholarships recognize outstanding graduating seniors who have a 4 year high school record of volunteering in the community.

As a nonprofit service organization, CWC believes that through volunteer service, one individual CAN make a difference. The Club awards one or more volunteer scholarships annually to graduating seniors that best exemplify this spirit of volunteerism. Awards are merit based; individual amounts may vary. The minimum scholarship is $250 and is based on the unpaid volunteer service the applicant has already performed.

Volunteer Scholarships are not given in cash; instead, the award recipient(s) selects a college or post high school continuing education training school to receive the funds established for his or her educational use. Individuals who choose to apply for a scholarship must meet eligibility requirements and must complete this application in its entirety. Only applications submitted by the receipt deadline will be considered. Selections will be completed and award applicant notified no later than April 15.
