GCISD Educational Partnership

Bridges Accelerated Learning Center is an academic alternative school that provides an opportunity for “at-risk” students to complete the required course work necessary for high school graduation. Students enrolled in Grapevine High School or Colleyville Heritage High School are selected to come to Bridges through application and interview. CWC believes there is potential within every student to succeed and, through its partnership with GCISD, offers a diversity of support toward that goal.

CWC sponsors Bridges’ annual awards ceremony with cap tassels and a graduation reception for graduating students and their families. Graduating seniors may apply for two exclusive CWC scholarships to Bridges — the Dick Dennison Memorial Scholarship and the Circle of Hope Scholarship — as well as apply for CWC’s Spirit of Youth Scholarship and Youth Volunteer Service Awards. CWC members honor Bridges’ staff and faculty with small treats and tokens throughout the academic year, including special recognition during Teacher Appreciation Week. CWC may help meet small staff requests for specific student needs. Some CWC members may also choose to invest volunteer time directly with Bridges, requiring acceptance of application requirements by GCISD.
